Director – Corporate Accounting

The Director – Corporate Accounting will report directly to the Vice-President & Controller and will have to manage a team of approximately five accountants, to document accounting transactions and close the books for five different entities. The incumbent will have to ensure accurate reporting of the results to management. It will also be his or her responsibility to develop reports, to accurately and concisely report and analyze key financial data as well as to improve efficiency of the accounting processes.

Main responsibilities:
• Manage accounting operations and delivery of multiple reports;
• Manage monthly production and distribution of results and management reports;
• Coordinate monthly closings for five different entities;
• Participate in system improvement initiatives and implementations (Oracle GL);
• Manage production of trial balance, including all financial statements for all companies;
• Manage Accounts Payable and accruals delivery;
• Manage information provision;
• Maintain and establish financial policies and practices;
• Maintain internal control in the environment (in relations with SOX);
• Support quarterly reviews and audit processes, including collaborating with external auditors.

Qualifications :
• Accounting designation;
• Minimum 5 years of experience in a similar role;
• Bilingualism;
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills;
• Ability to develop strong relationships through the organization;
• Knowledge of Oracle, Hyperion or system implementations (an asset).
